Just starting out – looking to discover more about apprenticeships.


Then contact Business Services at Wigan and Leigh College.

Step 2

Keen to do an Apprenticeship – but unsure which is the right one for you


Here in Business Services we currently offer over 110 different Apprenticeship Pathways. Our team will be able to discuss with you which apprenticeships are right for you – We will need to determine your grades in Maths, English and in some cases ICT. There are minimum grades that you will need to achieve before starting the qualification. Part of your framework may include Maths English and ICT If you haven't got the qualifications already you will take an initial assessment to determine how best to study them. We deliver Functional Skills in a variety of ways.

Registering, Searching or Applying for Apprenticeships

To search for Apprenticeship vacancies you will need to create an account on the National Apprenticeship website: https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/register

Once you have an account you can search and apply for vacancies. Wigan and Leigh College list all our current vacancies here: https://www.wigan-leigh.ac.uk/Apprenticeship-Vacancies

Step 6

About to start a new Apprenticeship programme


You will be assigned an assessor who will be in touch to start you on your program.

They will explain how the apprenticeship will work and what you will need to do. The duration of the programme is usually between 12 and 18 months.

Need support around your existing Apprenticeship


Visit the Apprentice Zone to find support a a wide range of topics or contact Business Services or your assessor for more information.
